"Improvement in the quality of the environment and ecological restoration of the marine environment"
The environmental market is subject to strict environmental regulations. The new EU Framework Strategy Directive on the Marine Environment is aimed at the proper ecological condition of coastal marine areas. It completes the Framework Water Directive (2000). It implies a more extended and complex monitoring. It also involves the interaction of activities and developments with ecosystems, as well as the restoration of degraded environments.
The Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur Marine Cluster gathers about thirty enterprises concerned with these issues, integrators, service companies, and green engineering : the key groups ( Thales Alenia Space, Veolia, DCNS, AREVA,…), an efficient network of innovating SMEs (NKE, Ixsea, Acsa, Copramex, Acri, Subseatech, Semantics, BRL, Comex, Flodim, Galatea, Oceanide, EMC3, Nautiscaphe, Architeuthis, Ecomer, Virtualdive, BMTI, Creocean,In Vivo, Souffleurs d’écume, ECA,Cybernetix,…), laboratories of excellence including the Oceanographic Observatory of Villefranche-sur-Mer, Arago in Banyuls, Oceanologic Centre of Marseille, Ifremer, IRD, IRSN, as well as universities.
A partnership has been developed in the framework of this program with the Agence de l’Eau (Water Agency) Rhône Méditerranée and Corsica.
